My winter, Christchurch to Dunedin

It's time to blog about my winter holiday spent in South Island of New Zealand! I'm back from Melbourne for more than a week already but I'm definitely still in a super duper holiday mood. With the never ending activities going around with my buddies here, my holiday isn't about sitting at home and having my every meal with series marathon.

And you know, it takes time to collect and sort out thousands of pictures.  ;)

The picturesque magnificent scenic view of the South Island is undeniably mesmerizing! It was such a wise decision to proceed with our plan to New Zealand despite the fact of the outbreak of H1N1 which had nearly stopped us from visiting NZ.

Again, it's always pictures that best served our satisfaction. :)

From Christchurch to Dunedin, looking at the itinerary given by the travel agent, 5 hours of driving of 362km was something very challenging to start of with. Oh yes we took the self-drive 5 days 4 nights package with 3 cars for 9 of us, it was gonna be a very fun journey. We didn't have to squeeze in the car but rather a quite relaxing journey despite the long-day-to-night drive. So eventually you could imagine we were in the car most of the time from day to night until we arrived at the destination of the day - our lovely hotel!

I drove!! :)  Frankly it was fun driving ups and downs from mountains to mountains although it was very tiring. Despite the annoying GPS which mislead me for numerous times and confusing my friends following behind U-turning together with me (it was somehow cute to see 3 cars making the same way together :p), it was all fine. And it's cool to see 3 cars in white driving on the road together! :D

Edinburgh of the south - Dunedin.

The Scottish city of Dunedin is set amidst a magical landscape and spreads around a sheltered harbour and is edged by the sea. Victorian and Edwardian spires and towers, neo-Gothic buildings and stately homes punctuate Dunedin's cityscape.

Larnach Castle

Finally we arrived at our very comfy hotel at night and only 3 persons per room, you can imagine how comfortable we were! :D With the "Bronze" package we took we thought we would only be given some kind of motel rather than this 3 star hotel that definitely enlightened us, no doubt we were so excited! Hehehe!
